Last Post!

This semester of this class has been pretty awesome. I liked learning things in a fun way. I feel like I am a little more comfortable in giving a speech and writing. Some of my favorite things in this class have been doing a puzzle, drawing with a partners direction, and watching all the different shows. So overall I have really enjoyed this class, it was one of my favorites!=]

West Side Story

This is a musical from the book written by Arthur Laurents. The 1957 musical was directed by Jerome Robbins. The whole musical was based off of Romeo and Juliet.
The Puerto Ricans, Sharks, and the Americans, Jets, are a big rivalry who fight for control of the town and keep fighting even though the cops try to stop them. They had a dance the Jets and Sharks stayed on their own side, and when doing a dance to get together, no body would pick someone of the other race. But then Tony and Maria see each other and they start to dance. Tony from the Jets falls in love with Maria, who is the Sharks leaders, Bernardo, sister. Of course no body wants to them together because they aren't "of their own kind." Then it makes it even worse because when the Jets and Sharks got in a fight Bernardo killed the Jets leader so Tony stabbed him and Bernardo ended up dying. Anita got mad because Maria still wants to be with Tony even though he killed Bernardo, who was Anitas lover and Marias brother. Well then when Anita went to go stop Chino from killing Tony she got harrased and made up a rumor saying Chino killed Maria for being in love with the guy that killed her brother. So Tony heard about this and was looking for Chino so he could kill him too because he was so upset, and then he saw Maria and as they were running towards each other Chino shot and killed Tony. Maria was mad and told everyone on the Jets and Sharks that it was all of their faults for the deaths because of all their haterid.
