Online Classes

Many people, including the state department of education, believe that online classes might be the future. In my opionion, online classes are not the way to go for various reasons. Lack of social interaction, distractions, and no motivation are three of those many reasons why the states should not change from the traditional classroom to online classes.
First, online classes causes lack of social interaction. Most kids become who they are by the peers that they meet, and if you take away school you lose the interaction with other people everyday, making it hard for the kids to grow socially. Not only do online schools take away the social interaction for the kids, but for the teachers too. The teachers, also know as the sender, would not have the kids, also known as the receivers, in the classroom for feedback.
Next, many distractions come about when taking online classes that wouldn't be there if in a traditional classroom. For example, if you have a younger sibling in the house, they might be unwilling to be quiet, making a lot of noise, for you to concentrate on what you are doing. Also, I know that if I were doing online classes, I would want to take a lot of breaks to get food or take a phone call. So all of the distractions makes it hard on the communication process between teacher and student.
Last, in an online class, there is no motivation provided for the student. As the students sit there learning, they may become discouraged, but there is no one there in person to encourage him or her to keep going. Taking online classes causes isolation, and that makes it hard to communicate with the teachers, which can be discouraging.
In conclusion, lack of social interaction, distractions, and no motivation are the three reasons I think we should not get rid of the traditional classroom for online classes. I definatly believe that we should continue to go to regular schools because they are much more efficient in teaching kids.
